"The best Flotilla of the Millennium"

With a grand finale over Banks Channel by Zambelli fireworks, the 1999 Holiday Flotilla will take place on Saturday, November 27th. Over 50 decorated yachts will parade down the Intercoastal Waterway drawing participants and spectators from throughout the state and region. Festivities included a day long festival in the Wrightsville Beach Municipal Park, as well as numerous parties and celebrations. This event has been constantly voted as "one of the top 20 events in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society. Judging will place at the host hotel, the Blockade Runner Beach Resort, where there was a sponsor/boat captain party on Friday night featuring the band "Captain Cook and the Coconuts". On Saturday night there will be a fabulous awards party with two bands, "Big Bump and the Stun Guns" (retro Jangos) and "Tiki Ricardo". Several celebrities, including John Boy and Billy will be present for the flotilla. This promises to be the best flotilla of the Millennium!
